  1. 1. A mirror turning on a string(reflective/somber), ring of light at a autumn pond(nostalgic/melancholy), the same film over and over(regret), alone like a key in a lock(isolation), nails are kissing the fingers good-bye(farewell).
    2. I truthfully don't understand how to answer this question. We are very confused. Sorry Marcy.
    3. This poem really touches on the feelings of self reflection that occur after losing a partner, as well as the pain and loss that one feels. The poem is also able to communicate how in periods of distress our emotions/logic leap from one thing to another by juxtaposing images together. Examples of this are "I wear a torn place place on my sleeve It isn't as simple as that." or "The lighting has shown me the scars of the future."
    4. It creates images like a key in a lock that it can not turn or sorrow pinned to a wall like . These images are all of things that once removed leaves whole or scars that can never be forgotten, somewhat like a failed relationship.

    1. The mood alternates throughout the poem. Initially, the imagery says that the calendar is sorrow, mirror on a string represents reflection, hands as tress meaning powerful, lonelines
    with the key and lock.
    2.I dont know.
    3. The poem focuses on the aftermath of a relationship. The feelings felt after it. The line "the lightning has shown me the scars of the future." meaning resilience in a way; how to get over something.
    4. Th poem focuses on personal connections and sometimes lack thereof. The poem says "it could all be in my mind".

    1. A list of images we could find in the poem: "nails are kissing the fingers goodbye (basically saying a goodbye), "alone like a key in a lock" (isolating self from everyone/anyone)
    2. I??? don't know? I'm confused and both of us can't figure out how to answer this question so we pass.
3.The way the poem seems to chart the emotional aftermath of a relationship is touching on the subject of how someone feels about themselves after a break up with the love of their life, pain and loss after someone leaves another person in the dust. "the lighting has shown me the scars of the future" how one recovers from a situation very quickly
    4. The poem focuses on one connecting with themselves and how they're doubting themselves or just denial "it could all be in my mind"

  4. 1. "Like a calendar in one color" represents a sense of the same or ordinary life, "Like a mirror on a string" represents the reflection of one's self, "Like a key in the lock" represents isolation, but also a place where you fit in.
    2. I have no idea how to answer this question.
    3. This poem touches mostly on the emotional feeling that one has after they lose a partner. It touché son the loneliness, regret, farewells and all of the key emotional aspects that comes with that lost. An emotional leap occurs when the poem is touching on the idea of regret that is being held, but then it leaps to the idea of the "future scars" that one will encounter in the near future.
    4. The poem creates the image of shuffling among lies and the image of regret with these images it shows the effect that the ending of a relationship can have on a person. The idea of the future scars represents this as well.
